Heritage Collection
The Heritage Collection is an exploration of memory, identity, and continuity — and the beginnings of Maria’s relationship with black and white film. Rooted in work that began in the 1990s, these photographs reflect a formative way of seeing, where patience, proximity, and intention shaped each frame long before instant gratification became the norm.

Captured primarily on film, the images embrace a slower process — one where light, texture, and time leave visible traces. Select digital works from the early 2000s are woven into the narrative, not as a contrast, but as a continuation, reinforcing the idea that heritage is layered rather than linear.

Together, the collection forms a visual archive — shaped by early experiences, a lifetime of travel, and a deep respect for the moment — preserved through time. An ongoing dialogue between past and present.
